E-sub Registrar’s Office, Basaidarapur

About This Project

E-SR office at Basiadarapur has a larger catering zone. It was therefore planned as a large building. As an informed design based on technology, scale and site, Sub registrar office stretches over 1300 sq.m. and is a marvel, both in architectural and interior scopes.

Positioned on the side of a separate approach road, the building is built in light gauge steel construction technology with stone and aluminium composite panel cladding on the exterior which together with exterior stepped form, give a very welcoming and grounded expression to the entire built.

Building is divided and planned in three basic zones, main public zone with information kiosks, public dealing area, and restricted back offices with document storage and computer filing. Designed with a front single story section, it steps up incorporating a high ceiling public dealing zone giving the space a very grand and breathable gesture. Beyond this section is a double storey floor plate with a large document storage on two floors, office and chambers of senior officers.

Special emphasis has been given to values exhibited by interiors using elegant and easy to maintain finishes on wall, well planned signage and a good use of natural light using tall windows.

Building commits towards its energy sustainability by minimising the wastage of material using proper planning, proper fenestrations towards heat gaining surfaces and low power consuming mechanical systems planned regionally to use only the section that is occupied.
