Delhi
A patient-centric oncology facility structured for treatment continuity, resilience, and future expansion
Andromeda Oncology Hospital was developed to expand reliable cancer treatment access across Delhi NCR and surrounding Tier 2 and Tier 3 regions within a 150-kilometre service radius. The institution required an environment capable of supporting complex oncology treatment while remaining operationally clear, culturally aligned, and economically sustainable for long treatment cycles. The project was structured around real patient journeys and treatment continuity. Planning decisions respond to three core realities: emotional sensitivity during treatment, regional cultural context, and long-term affordability of care.
Using a hub-and-spoke treatment logic, the hospital integrates advanced oncology infrastructure with predictable patient movement and clinical workflow clarity. The architecture supports treatment reliability, staff efficiency, and long-term care delivery performance.
Cancer care requires environments that reduce uncertainty and support sustained patient engagement across multiple treatment stages. Entry and outpatient environments are structured for immediate clarity and intuitive navigation. Circulation planning reduces confusion and supports predictable movement between diagnostics, consultation, and treatment zones. Daylight integration, controlled scale, and spatial restraint support patient orientation and reduce environmental stress triggers. The building maintains clinical authority while remaining approachable and familiar for patients and families.
The hospital operates as a specialised oncology hub managing advanced treatments including surgery, radiotherapy, and complex cancer procedures. Diagnostic and follow-up interactions are supported through extended care networks closer to patient communities.
Internally, the hospital is structured across three clinical floors and a dedicated oncology treatment basement. Outpatient services are anchored at ground level for direct access. Inpatient recovery environments are positioned on upper levels for privacy and acoustic control. The basement integrates radiation therapy bunkers, LINAC facilities, PET/CT imaging, brachytherapy, and treatment planning environments.
This structure reduces travel burden, improves treatment adherence, and supports high-precision oncology workflow performance.
The hospital was planned on an L-shaped site with expansion capability embedded from the initial design stage.
Phase 1 begins with 100 beds. Core services, utility infrastructure, and circulation systems are structured to support seamless future expansion without interrupting active treatment operations.
This approach enables the institution to scale with rising oncology demand while sustaining treatment continuity and operational stability.
Zoning separation between outpatient, inpatient, and high-complexity treatment environments reduces congestion and strengthens staff workflow clarity. Dedicated staff, nursing, and caregiver zones support long-term workforce stability.
The architectural character communicates reliability, stability, and clinical confidence. The facility supports diverse cultural and faith sensitivities while maintaining consistent institutional identity
The architecture functions as an enabling system that supports treatment precision, environmental predictability, and operational clarity.
Andromeda Oncology Hospital demonstrates that cancer care outcomes are influenced not only by medical technology and clinical expertise, but by environments that support patients across extended treatment journeys.
From zoning strategy to treatment infrastructure, from circulation clarity to environmental stability, each decision supports treatment continuity and patient confidence.
As a doctor-led institution, Andromeda strengthens regional cancer care access while sustaining long-term clinical performance, operational reliability, and institutional responsibility.
